I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. I will only process your personal data in compliance with applicable law (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act 2003). This privacy policy will inform you as to how I use your personal data in the course of my business operations as a language service provider.

Types of data, collection and use

If you contact me through a contact form on this website, by e-mail, by phone, etc., you voluntarily provide personal information about you. This includes, for example, your name, title, address, phone number, e-mail address, and, if applicable, any personal information that may be included in any files you provide to me (e.g. in texts that you want me to translate).

Your personal data will be stored in order to process your enquiry and for any follow-up questions that may arise. If you place an order, I will store your data in order to fulfil my contractual obligations towards you. Certain data are necessary for performing the contract because I would be unable to execute your order without them.

I will use the personal information provided by you only for the specified purpose and will store all your personal data safely. In most cases the purpose of the data storage is the fulfillment of my contractual obligations towards you or the execution of your order.

Retention period

If you don’t place an order after an initial enquiry and you don’t wish to stay in touch with me, your personal data will be deleted after a period of six months.

If you place an order, I will store your personal data for the duration of our business relationship. However, certain data may have to be stored for a longer period of time in order to comply with legal retention periods (e.g. the Austrian fiscal retention period of 7 years for invoice data).

Data transfers to third parties

Your data will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent, unless I am required to do so by law. Your data may be transferred to third parties in the following cases:

To execute your order, your data may be transferred to data processors (e.g. for proofreading translations). This is stated in the specific terms and conditions that you agree to when you place an order.

All data processors have been selected with great care, and they have signed contracts committing them to ensure the confidentiality of your data and to comply with the required level of data protection.

Furthermore, your data may be transferred to third parties in other necessary cases, e.g. to my tax consultant.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your computer by your Internet browser and that don’t cause any damage.
I use cookies in order to improve the usability of my website. Some cookies will remain stored on your computer until you delete them. They enable me to recognize your browser when you visit this website again.

If you want to refuse the use of cookies, you can adjust the settings of your browser, so that it will inform you about the placement of cookies and so that you can only allow this in individual cases.
However, please note that if you disable cookies, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyze how visitors use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Your IP address will be collected, but it will be immediately anonymized by deleting the last 8 bits. Therefore, only an approximate localization will be possible.

Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services related to website and Internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

You may disable data processing by Google Analytics by clicking on this opt-out link. This sets an opt-out cookie that
prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website.

I have signed a data processing contract with Google.

The data processing is based on the provisions of § 96 Abs 3 TKG (Austrian Telecommunications Act) as well as on consent pursuant to Art 6 (1) (a) GDPR and/or legitimate interest pursuant to Art 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
My concern within the meaning of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is the improvement of my services and of my website. As the privacy of my users is very important to me, all user data will be pseudonymized, if technically possible.

User data will be stored for the period of 2 years.

Your rights as a data subject

You have the right to information, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, and to object. If you think that the processing of your data has infringed data protection legislation or that your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you may issue a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).
